What do people see and experience when they go for exhibitions, movies, drama and dance performances? in here we share our encounters with inspiring art.

Sham Shui Po has reinvented itself without losing all of its past, we still have a lot left for those who feel like reminiscence. But just how do its dwellers view themselves as a whole?
I set off to hear what the community voices to us and what the ’sound of the environment’ suggests. The soundscape will perhaps bridge that gap between now and then, between emotions and how life has to move on in a developing community.
Using a contemporary and vivid way to approach the community and we hope to invite the “outsiders” to have a feel about the essence of Sham Shui Po.

Started Art Hawker in 2014 to stretch the limits of art with his performative works
Back in old days, it was a seashore around the Shamshuipo area, “Shamshui” means deep-water, while “po” means the pier. In this “deep-water pier”, a lot of things had happened – the outdoor markets, light industrial developement, water restriction, fire, housing developement… In each and every street, building, or even people, there are stories and history – they are all the pearls of this era, each shining faintly, quietly striving to live in the city.
The beads of the work represent the people of Shamshuipo, a sea of beads hanging in a dark alley, shining on their own, undiscovered.

Being an outsider, even it is very difficult to understand the system within the chaotic relations among the inter-related community, it is impossible not to be attracted by the condensed and original atmostphere. The unique form of signages creates series of characteristic images of streets.
Posting bills, a temporary state, to diffuse the image into the community. A special interaction is formed when the creator post the bill and the viewer take it off – a unique connection among people within the community.

There is a sense of freedom when walk through Shamshuipo, without luxury office buildings, one can smell humanity among the traditional shops, wholesale stores, markets;
love to appreciate the historical buildings. But how long can such be kept?

Usually one is attracted by old unique form of buildings, which evoke group memories from the past era; I believe that, every old building is full of realities, is a container of ‘everyday’ history.
