我的藝術創作有兩個主要的方向， 第一是表達動物保育的內容， 反思在不同文化背景、地域和歷史中，動物和人類的關係變化。第二是將動物人格化，或可以是研究動物和人類行為情緒相似的地方，然後將兩者連結在一起，用幽默的方法帶出大家同樣具備情感、家庭和生存的需要。

Tell us about your art practice. I create art about psychology. My work explores and expresses the myriad intricate sensations and feelings underlying various aspects and moments of human experience, such as being in harmony with nature, relationships, resilience in hardship, hope, and love, through abstract painting. I specialize in applying the mind-body technique called “Focusing” to my art practice. Everything I created come from my personal experience, intuition and reflections.

What kind of medium do you use to make art?
I do not limit myself to the use of one single medium, but I do have my preference. For now, I am interested in doing drawings, sculptures, installation and photography.

早年李美蓮任職插畫師，越來越發現自己有很多想法、感覺，希望跟別人分享，於是決意把力量投放在藝術上，發展自己想要的藝術事業，改變生活模式。

香港大多數人都會把自己大部份時間放在工作上，下班的閒暇就做自己喜歡的事。李選擇了在大部份時間做自己喜歡的事 – 藝術創作，而其餘時間就去工作來支持自己的藝術。她說：追尋自己的理想，需要有準備放棄一些東西，不願意犧牲，很難走出框架。兼顧生活和理想並不容易，她經常都會處於一種邊緣的狀態，要盡量取得平衡。
